How to check Pokémon card value

  1. 1

    Find the name and number

The card's name is at the top. The number is at the bottom, usually in a corner, such as 4/102 or 199/165.

  2. 2

    Search for it

Type the name and number into the search box above, for example “Charizard 4/102”. Pick the result whose set and image match your card.

  3. 3

    Match the exact printing

Holo, reverse holo, first edition and other versions are priced separately. Each card page lists every printing with its own price.

  4. 4

    Adjust for condition

Market prices describe cards in good, near-mint condition. Whitening, scratches or creases bring the value down, sometimes a lot.

Pokémon card price checker, value finder and calculator

This Pokémon card price checker works as a value finder for single cards: search a card and its page shows the Pokémon card value for each printing, the recent price trend, and current listings. To see how much your Pokémon cards are worth together, use the Pokémon card value calculator, which adds up a whole stack. Prices are updated every night.

Checking cards one at a time is slow for a big collection. The Pokémon card scanner app reads the card with your phone's camera and shows its value instantly.

What makes a Pokémon card worth money?

  • The printing. First edition, holo, reverse holo, full art and special illustration rare versions of the same Pokémon can differ in price by hundreds of dollars.
  • Rarity and print run. The rarity symbol (circle, diamond, star and beyond) and how many packs were printed both matter.
  • Condition. Near-mint cards are worth the most. Visible wear brings the price down; professionally graded cards in top condition can sell for far more.
  • The Pokémon. Charizard, Pikachu, Umbreon and other fan favourites carry a premium over less popular Pokémon.
  • Age and nostalgia. Cards from 1999 to 2003 are scarcer in good condition and in high demand.
